Spend the day exploring the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with stops at the Thurston Lava Tube, Kilauea volcano lookout, Jagger Museum, volcano steam vents and visitors center. Lunch will be served at the Volcano House restaurant overlooking the crater or you can bring your own lunch and we can picnic. After lunch, we will head back around the island stopping at Punuluu black sand beach (turtle beach) to see the many sea turtles who call this beach home. Our next stop will be the charming town of Naalehu and Punulu’u bake shop, the southernmost bakery in the USA, for fresh delicious pastries. Our final stop will be the wood valley Buddhist temple and retreat. It’s a peaceful oasis to relax and stroll thru the majestic trees and strolling peacocks. The temple is beautiful and quaint and the caretakers and monks are warm and welcoming. A fabulous place to take pictures.
